As many of you know, the demand for English language teaching jobs in Korea is growing at an unprecedented rate. It is no longer simply the private schools that need teachers. In an effort to enhance its English programs, the Korean public school system needs foreign teachers too! End your job search now and apply to teach in Korea. In a nutshell, the Pegasus Program will assist the Korean government with its vision to provide outstanding schools with enthusiastic teachers. This incredible program is different than any other teaching jobs because of the sense of community and group belonging it can provide for its teachers who will be collectively transitioning into work and life abroad. All Pegasus Program teacher jobs are in the either Busan or Ulsan, so a real sense of community is established in each city. Teacher jobs for this program are offered twice a year.

THE POSITIONS:
 

Teaching in Korean primary and secondary public schools as part of the Korean government's aim to promote and strengthen English language education.

Minimum requirement: Bachelor's Degree ~ Any Major; teaching experience not necessary

Contract Term: One year

Training / Orientation: Provided at the end of February and end of August each year. Teaching will commence on March 1st and September 1st respectively for all teachers.

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm or 9am-5pm; no split shifts; no weekends
(the best hour package for exploring Korea, meeting people, and making the most of your time teaching abroad)
Actual class instruction time usually does not exceed 22 hours. At least 18 hours will be available for in-school prep time. Overtime, if worked, will be paid additionally for teachers.

Pay: 1,800,000-2,500,000 Korean Won based on experience. Possible 300,000 Korean Won signing bonus. One month bonus salary upon completion of contract.

Location: Coastal cities of Busan and Ulsan.

Other important details: Vacation days: 14 working days; plus 15 National holidays

Airfare: Round trip travel provided. Teachers are responsible for paying their flight to Korea upfront, then the school will reimburse them.

Housing: Single furnished housing provide; couples housing available

Health insurance: Local medical insurance provided, 50% paid by teacher

# of other foreign teachers in the school: up to 5

# of students attending school: 300-1,000
